A
member of the Society may elect to purchase a minimum
of 10 registrations on a block booking system. The
member must purchase prior to 30th April a minimum
of 10 registration places, and has until the 1st
November in that year, to nominate the animals he/she
wishes to register. Any credit which may be remaining,
will be held by the Society for use by the member
in the following year. Lambs must be registered
in their year of birth. |
Lamb
Registration period:
|
| |
|
1st
period - forms to be returned by 30th April.
This period is for lambs that you wish to exhibit
at official shows and enter at official society
sales. All sheep must have been registered prior
to entry into an official sale. Any animal found
entered for a sale but not registered will be charged
double registration fee. |
| |
|
2nd
Period - forms to be returned by 30th November.
This period of registration is for all other lambs
that you wish to register.
|
All
lambs must be registered in the year of their birth
and therefore the second period of registration
is the final opportunity for breeders to register
sheep. Lambs may only be registered with the Society
by the owner of the ewe at the time of birth.
|
| |
|
For
members of Blue Sires. All lambs recorded at the
8 week weigh date must be birth notified to the
Society, within two weeks, and a B/N fee paid with
the application. Notified animals are not entered
into the flock book, nor are pedigree certificates
issued for them, but their details are retained
on the Society's computerised record system. If
at any time owners of Notified animals wish to obtain
full pedigree status, they should apply to the office
for the correct form. On payment of a further fee
the animal will be issued with a pedigree and entered
into the flock book. The fee for 2004 will be £2
per lamb at B/N and a further £8 for full pedigree
status.
|
| |
|
Breeders
must apply for full pedigree status for:
- Rams that are used in pedigree flocks as flock
sires ;
- Rams for which the owner requires a three generation
pedigree certificate;
- Rams from which semen has been collected.
|
| Any
animal that is to be shown at an agricultural show
or offered for sale at a Society sale must be fully
registered at the time of entry. Any animal found
entered incorrectly will be charged double registration
fees. |
