The Bleu du Maine ewe is an enthusiastic mother who will produce an excellent lambing percentage of around 200% in a commercial flock. The ewe has a wide pelvis which is great for ease of lambing in the current climate of high labour costs. The breed is widely recognised as having an abundance of milk & the lambs are very lively at birth & are on the feet & keen to suckle very quickly. The Millennium Bleu is acheived by crosssing the pure Bleu ewe with a pure Beltex ram & both males and females are keenly sought after.

The mature ewe weighs from 80 - 100 kgs, has a dark blue slate colour to the head and legs, a very bright prominent eye and fine bone.
