The Lamb

Both the pure bred & cross bred lambs are quickly on their feet & keen to suckle. Due to the wide pelvic area on the ewe the lambs normally have a very un-dramatic birth so are not stressed. The pure bred lambs are born without too much wool on their heads & therefore are best lambed indoors with some protection from the weather if it is very inclement, but after a few days can be turned out.

(Signet have recorded daily live weight gains of .49kg for twin ram lambs between eight and twenty-one weeks and 56day weights of 30-36kgs)
