Launch of new Traceability Service for Sheep in England Draws Close
04/03/2022

After nearly five years of careful and rigorous investment we are now on the verge of seeing the launch of the Livestock Information Service (LIS) planned to happen imminently.

With this in mind, representatives from NSA English Committee were given an overview and introduction to the service and system last Friday. This allowed practical questions to be asked, and further details to be discussed as well as plans for some testing to be carried out by NSA committee members. Phil Stocker comments: “The opening of the new service should just be a beginning and wisely LI Ltd are focussing all their energy on getting the basics right before more functionality can be offered.”

NSA will keep members informed on the final dates, also keep an eye on the general farming media who will also be expected to cover this story as the launch date arrives. The service will be available online and you will need to create an account to use it. You will be able to do this from mid-March (before the service goes live).
