Percy Tait - Legend in a Lifetime
09/10/2019

Today, the 9th October is Percy Tait's 90th Birthday.  What an occasion to celebrate and we wish him a very happy birthday!  One of our most senior members, not just in years but as a Bleu du Maine breeder, Percy and the Perdi Flock have acheived tremendous success with his sheep, as he has in life.

An extremely successful bike racer, Percy gained experience of fast moving machines during his time of National Service when he was part of the Royal Corps of Signals White Helmets Motocycle Display team. He joined Triumph in 1950 on the production line but his talent was soon spotted  and his racing career began. A frequent rider at the Isle of Man TT, Percy achieved victories all over the world before joining Suzuki in 1976 to help develop their 500cc Grand Prix bike for Barry Sheene.

Percy Tait's name is synonymous with successful sheep breeding, with  equally successful flocks of Bleu du Maine, Charollais & Rouge, winning championships at all the major shows with all three breeds.  We wish him a very happy day and a long and happy life with his beautiful wife Di.
