British Shoppers Bring Retail Boom for Red Meat!
22/06/2021

Consumers across Britain have spent a significant total of £4.1 billion on beef, lamb and pork in the past 12 months alone, according to the latest data released by Kantar. Covering the 52 weeks to the 16th May 2021, this is an impressive increase of 12.6% when compared to the previous year.

The total volume sold during that same time also surged by 9.4%, reaching 565,100 tonnes.

This new information reflects the huge demand for locally-sourced beef, lamb and pork as the Covid-19 pandemic brought the country to a standstill.

Sales of lamb in particular were substantial, with more than half of GB consumers buying lamb during this period.
